Abstract

It is a fact that many countries around the world face unique problems that differ from one nation to another. A major contributor to these problems is the leadership style and attitudes of the leaders of these countries. In response, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) created the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a common front to address the issues. The SDGs aim to improve the lives of people everywhere by setting specific targets and goals for a better and sustainable future for current and future generations. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) refers to all digital devices used to perform human tasks. ICT generates and disseminates information to various areas where it is needed. The integration of ICT with SDGs has been instrumental in accelerating the achievement of the goals of the United Nations General Assembly. This paper reviews the impact of ICT on SDGs, specifically on socioeconomic well-being. The relationship between ICT and SDGs is explained in detail. The conclusion drawn from this paper is that ICT has had a significant impact on the SDGs, particularly on socioeconomic well-being. Recommendations were provided to ensure that ICT is utilized to its full potential to promote the well-being of individuals.
